An off-road day with M-Hero near Plovdiv

See how the MHERO 817 handles wet gravel, side slopes and a water crossing.

Terrain reveals more than a specification sheet

We took the MHERO 817 away from paved roads near Plovdiv to see how it responds when grip and visibility change constantly. The route included wet gravel, ruts, side slopes and a water crossing, with no prepared surface and no studio conditions.

The aim was control rather than speed. At a measured pace, the behaviour of the 4×4 drivetrain, the throttle response and the way the suspension follows uneven ground become much easier to assess. The cameras and off-road modes also help the driver place a large vehicle more accurately.

What gives the 817 its capability

The plug-in hybrid system produces a combined 677 hp, while body-on-frame construction and four-wheel drive are standard on both versions. The E0 has a maximum quoted wading depth of 700 mm, while the E1+ reaches 900 mm in suitable conditions.

The main differences between E0 and E1+ are the suspension, off-road geometry and selected equipment. E1+ adds adaptive air suspension and rear-wheel steering for easier manoeuvring in confined spaces. Both versions have a quoted 110 km electric range under WLTC and up to 1,113 km of combined range.

Prepared for everyday driving as well

Once the off-road section is over, the 817 settles comfortably back onto tarmac. Electric mode keeps progress quiet, while the cabin includes dual-zone climate control, a central display and driver-assistance systems. E1+ also adds NAPPA leather, massaging seats and a Dynaudio® sound system.

You can view the MHERO 817 at our showroom near Plovdiv. Book a test drive to compare the E0 and E1+ versions and discuss which configuration best matches the way you intend to use the car.
